Recently, my sister went to a salon to get her hair dyed. I just tie my hair up in a bun and call it day. So of course we can’t wear our hair down. We buy cheap shampoo that isn’t compatible for our hair. My sister says the only way to wear it down is to straighten it but I don’t believe that. I do research but she tells me i’m just wasting my time. I told her that there has to be something and she says there isn’t and it makes me angry. My sister says she’s tried everything and nothing works. I (16F) have curly hair and so does my sister (20F) and we have no idea how to take care of it in order to wear it down or style it for occasions. I highly recommend that while you’re trying out what types of products you like to use in your hair. It gets expensive, but the Purple Australian hair care brand is affordable and smells great, too. It’s going to wet and messy, so at least it can be moisturizing while I’m in the sun and water. I lather deep conditioner in my hair and clip it up anytime I go near water, be it a pool, beach, river or lake. I spritz a little water on my hair every time I wash my hands to help perk the curls up. When humidity is inhumane, I add some curl oil to help tame the beast. I put a little bit of curl cream on my hair and wrap my hair in a silk scarf or an old polyester or satin T-shirt to also keep the frizz down while it’s drying. I wet and condition my hair every day when I shower. Use a wide tooth comb to detangle and act like brushes were never invented. Moisture is a curls best friend and shampoos tend to dry curls out when used too often. Once I stopped shampooing daily, I stopped having ridiculous frizz that made my hair look five feet tall when it’s not even half that long. I never believe anyone that nay-says with information that obviously can’t be legit.
